Disable Tempo

What do I do if I want to disable the tempo function, as if I was just going to record a live event?

Thanks
John B :)

Um....just don't use the metronome and make sure all of the quantize features are turned off.
How do I disable all of the quantize features. I'm bringing a track in from another project and I just want to have the project I'm importing to to just "free flow" and not follow any tempo.

Basically, just don't use the metronome. Also, if you are going to add MIDI to the project, make sure IQ is turned off. (Input Quantize). It's in the main toolbar and literally is an icon that shows IQ on it. And..just to be safe (you shouldn't HAVE to do this in most cases), on the Audio Track, click the "i" towards the upper left if your screen (or hit F4 on your keyboard) and make sure tempo is set to "Don't Follow." Again, you should not HAVE to do this unless you purposefully are using timestretch, but that will turn off all of the Tempo and Quantize features that could happen upon recording.

Again, you're a lifesaver, Midiboy. Thanks. Yes, it's just a rarity but on this project I need it to free flow.

Note that everything you record in Studio One still gets 'stamped' with the tempo setting of the song. For free tempo recordings it simply means nothing. Consider leaving the song's tempo at the 120bpm default for 0.5 sec per gridline. Can be handy for timing purposes.
