Solved Can't drag&drop audio file to plugins

I can't get the audio file from the arrangement window into the phase plant sampler and into the paulxstretch plugin.
Is it even possible to do this in s1? In other daw I haven't encountered such difficulties with it.

I'd love to help but I don't know what a "phase plant sampler" and a "paulxstretch plugin" actually means? Is this some sort of sampler that you drop WAV files into?

For PaulXStretch check out the video below. For Phase Plant, are you trying to use an MP3 file or something? Quite often those synths only accept WAV files.

Depends "what" (and from where) you are attempting to drag in - in addition to the format.

To make it short: That's not possible. You can drag MIDI or audio files from plug-ins into the arrangement, but not vice versa.

You can only drag real files (audio or MIDI) into plug-ins from the Browser's Files tab (or from outside the program). But not events from the arrangement, because these are not necessarily files that can be accessed by software via the file system.

Another possible workflow other than Lukas' solution for Phaseplant:

- Bounce Audio Event in place (with Quantize Off), so that Audio file is the exact same length as the Event you want to put in Phaseplant
- Right click on event "Select in Pool"
- Right click on File in Pool "Show in Explorer"
- Drag n Drop from there

There are a few other Non Stock plugins that are able to receive Audio from within the Arrangement.

Example: New Sonic Arts Nuance:
- Make sure Process Precision in Audio Setup is Single (32 Bit) and Record Format in Song Setup is less than or equal to 32 Bit float
- Bounce Audio Event in place (with Quantize Off), so that Audio file is the exact same length as the Event you want to put in Plugin
- Drag n Drop event into plugin

I've now rechecked also in reaper this, it doesn't work there either, although I was sure I did it.
Apparently, studio one has nothing to do with it.
Thank you for the answers.
