Bounce selection changes waveform?

Logical

New member
Hello everyone,

I have noticed that when I bounce selection the waveform seems to change in the event. Timestretch is turned off in the inspector, snap is off, and there are no effects on the channel. I have tried to upload a screen recording but the forum doesn't seem to let me.

Thanks

Waveforms (see attachment) look the same to me.
Have you submitted a Support Ticket (see link in my signature) yet?
If not, please report the issue.

You should be able to upload before and after screenshots.
For videos you'll need to connect to them via a URL (Youtube, etc.).

Could be a difference between Windows OS (Trucky) and Mac OS Sonoma (Logical).

Just a shot in the dark--is the fader set to unity (0) when you bounce?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I don't notice any difference in sound but there is a change that happens which is easily noticeable if watching a video capture (actually just switching between the two images you can see it). I suspect nothing is out of the ordinary here, but I would like to understand this change in appearance.

Yes, the fader is set to unity.

Do they cancel when phase is inverted?

Do they cancel when phase is invert

So I’ve just tested. Just for clarity here is what I did.

I copied an event. Clicked on track below, and pasted. Phase invert check - test they null.

Then, I applied bounced selection to the copied event. And they no longer nulled. Is anyone able to replicate this?

I will be able to check in about fifteen minutes. Hang tight.

Okay so mine do null. That said, the waveforms are visibly different and do change on bounced selection regions when I am zoomed out to a certain level. However when I am zoomed in and apply bounce selection, the waveforms remain the same. I’m going to keep messing with this to see if I can get it to not null but good catch.

Thanks for trying this out. I’ll test again and see what happens.

Are there any MixFX activated by any chance? Or is your internal bounce bit rate lower than 32 bit?
