Solved Bounce MIDI in Place

Is there a way to bounce a MIDI track comprised of multiple events to its own track and end up with a single MIDI event in the track? When I have tried to do this it has created a new separate track containing what appears to be MIDI data. So now I have two tracks instead of one, and the new track looks like it's greyed out and doesn't play.

I just hit 'g' (group) and it makes a single midi event out of many.

Group combines events well. You can use the same comp system that audio uses. Have midi down in layers and whatever you select gets copied to the active track.
