Because embedded YouTube videos place cookies in your browser storage - something we unfortunately cannot prevent. That's why this website wouldn't be GDPR-compliant without displaying a cookie prompt before allowing access to such external content.Can someone tell me why I have to accept 3rd party cookies (no opt-out, no options) to watch these uploads? Until then they are useless to me.
You should have already seen the cookie consent dialog when you first visited the site and made your choices there. I'm not 100% sure anymore - setting all of this up was a bit of a pain - but as far as I remember, whether or not you can see embedded YouTube content depends on whether you accepted third-party cookies in that dialog.PS. Interesting. After posting in this thread I can see the content of the uploads. Apparently I've now accepted the cookies without ever giving my consent. Very curious and probably a practice punishable by law!
