Audio Gridder

I just found this thing called Audio Gridder. Anyone using it with S1?

You can read about it here, https://audiogridder.com/

It looks pretty interesting and a few threads seem to indicate that it greatly improves performance of your DAW even if the server is installed on the same computer as your DAW. It's all about efficiently using all your CPU cores.

Has anyone here tried it?

Looks interesting but I haven't used it. If I have time I would like to try it with my laptop. In about 2 weeks I also get an old Mac from someone and maybe that will be perfect for this.

Same here, I use a laptop for most things so I'm going to set it up and see how it works.

EDIT: I loaded this up and tried it on my laptop. Just running the server on the same computer as S1. It works brilliantly and frees up a lot of resources on projects that are heavily loaded! I'm impressed!! If anyone is running a computer that struggles with larger projects, give this a try.

I use it with studio one and love it. It’s really quite impressive. My interface can sync and run two computers simultaneously so when I’m not using my 2012 Mac Pro as a sampler, it’s running audio gridder to alleviate processing strain.

On the **same** computer 😳?? With better performance...?

Yep! It's all about how it uses multi-core CPUs. Give it a try, it's free open source software, you don't even have to register on a website, just download it and give it a try.

Tried it just now on just my desktop, no additional machines. And I'm impressed! I usually have issues with Sonarworks SoundID in combination with certain other plugins. And taking that part out of Studio One and having Audiogridder take care of it suddenly eliminated all the CPU spikes. So that one is here to stay, even if it's just for this one plugin. So thank you for this suggestion!

Yep, never used it as I have Vienna Ensemble Pro Server, but even on the same machine it’s effective to outsource some plugins…
