Assign ATOM SQ Pads as effect controllers?

Hello everyone!

I can't seem to find any info on this, but is there no way to assign the pads themselves as midi buttons? I'm attempting to control the Kilohearts tape stop effect wtih the impact sq to enable the start stop button, so far I can only do it with the knobs on my impact SQ, which is fine, but I'd like to use the pads so I can have a number of effects I can "perform" with...

Not that I'm aware of...

The 8 banks of 8 knobs (64 total) controller assignments and 36 User buttons assignments for commands provide all that I need.

Do you need more than that?

It’s more preference than anything, I’d like the option to use those pads as triggers for certain effects is all. might be weird to some but, guess I’m weird.

Seems you'd need only assign one of the buttons as trucky suggested.
There's a bank with blank button assignments just begging to be used for well..... anything. Make that a key command, and map a button to that key command.
As for a pad? I dont think so. Not that its impossible. Just that it would have to come from the instrument and allowances to make that key act like a button. Come to think of it, Stepic can make such key triggers. But I think that's a whole other ball of wax. Unless you have Stepic. Then, the key on a selected instrument could do a whole host if things (sequence start, stop, be some switch.. ), and be sent to the Atom SQ.
Best to keep things simple by using an Atom SQ button, me thinks.

You dont get a pass on weird. Too much of that going around. ; )
