ARA Ignores S1 Bar Offset Setting

Unless I'm missing something (entirely possible), it seems there's an error between the way an ARIA event effect (Melodyne in the screenshot example, but also the same for Synthesizer V 2 when inserted as an ARIA event effect) interprets the current bar position, when a bar offset is enabled in Studio One (7, but I'm not sure it this predates the version 7 rollout) - Can anyone confirm? And, is this a "bug"? I don't understand the intention if it's intended behaviour.

It's ARA :-)

I don't think this is a bug. The bar offset is meant purely as a view option for the arrangement window. I don't think it's something that is passed to ARA plug-ins so that they can update their bar numbers as well. In this case it's more a feature request for ARA (and ARA plug-ins). I'm not entirely sure though, I would have to discuss it with Studio One development (or look into the ARA API).

Well I hear you, (hence my question, "bug"?) but it seems incongruous to have two different "bar locations" for the same event, and is actually distracting as heck when I am moving between an ARIA window and the main S1 arrangement. To the point where if Presonus says it's not going to be fixed, or is up to the individual ARA event effect suppliers to fix (or not), I'll just stop using the bar offset "feature" in S1, and go back to just doing the math (correction) in my head. Thanks for the reply Lukas. I did put in a ticket with Presonus, FYI. Yet to hear back. I'll update this thread when I have an update, either way.
👍

Sorry - ARA. Please excuse the errors above.

I messaged with Tech Support who said they have forwarded the issue to development. 🤞

I also prefer to use a bar offset in my timeline and have noticed the discrepancy between ARA timelines and the regular song timeline. As such I hope that "development" does look at this as per AAV request.

Another similar situation is that when I use a bar offset on the timeline, then create a scratch pad the bar offset does not carry over to the scratch pad as far as I can tell. As such they are not consistent.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make these two align to one another?

Thanks for the post Eaglepass. (Fellow Canadian/Ontarian - Welcome!) I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one to use the bar offset feature. I haven't made a lot of use of scratch pads tbh, so I guess I never noticed it there. I tend to move sections around in the arranger itself, but that's more just old habit. Thanks for pointing that out.
